Mobi6 packages published
(Rob Kleissen, 10 November 2010)
TMSi (www.tmsi.com) has developed a special version of their Mobi product for telecare
and telemedicine applications. This Mobi can capture and transmit physiological data
from a wide rangeof electrodes and sensors.
TMSi makes source code available that enables users to interface
the Mobi with embedded computer systems. I have created Mobi6 packages for the
ASUS WL-500G Premium under Kamikaze 8.09.1 and the Linksys WRT160NL under Backfire
10.03.1-rc3.
Check out the Software section.
Bluetooth Obex packages published for Backfire 10.03.1-rc3
(Rob Kleissen, 10 November 2010)
I created openobex and obexftp packages for the Linksys WRT160NL for Backfire 10.01.1-rc3.
These packages are also on the Software page.
"Micro-howto" Bluetooth pairing published
(Rob Kleissen, 1 May 2010)
Pairing a sensor device with preset PIN code is not trivial. Therefore I wrote a small
shell script to illustrate how to pair a TMSi Mobi4 device with the ASUS WL-500G Premium Kamikaze 8.09.1 system.
Take a look at the Oxymetry page.
Links to other websites added
(Rob Kleissen, 17 April 2010)
Around the world, there are a number of interesting developments that are based on
ideas similar to those of the Open Telecare Initiative.
The Links page page can help to find them.
Openobex and obexftp packages published
(Rob Kleissen, 4 April 2010)
It is convenient if the OTI Digital Vault can send messages to a mobile phone. This is
a simple and no-hassle way of providing information to the user. This can be
achieved using the obexftp application, and the related openobex library.
You can find the packages on
the Software page. Obexftp works on my ASUS WL-500G Premium
under Kamikaze 8.09.1. I was able to smoothly transfer files over Bluetooth to my Sony Ericsson v600i
mobile phone.
Software section added
(Rob Kleissen, 13 March 2010)
You can now download some packages that will install on the ASUS WL 500G Premium
using the opkg command. I expect that you will find more packages in the future on
this page. I have tested the software on the ASUS WL-500G Premium
under Kamikaze 8.09.1
Howto for interfacing Nonin 4100 oximeter published
(Rob Kleissen, 2 January 2010)
The Digital Vault is now collecting data over Bluetooth from a Nonin 4100 oximeter.
Interfacing involved the writing of some shell scripts and two c programs.
This HowTo document describes how this was achieved. The code
written was tested on a Mandriva 2009 Spring Linux distribution and an ASUS WL-500G Premium
under Kamikaze 8.09.1
Howto for setting up a system published
(Rob Kleissen, 11 january 2009)
After a number of months of testing, a prototype platform that can
support keeping an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at home has shown to
work reliably. The way this system was set up is described in this HowTo document.
Letter to member of Parliament
(Rob Kleissen, 8 january 2009)
The Dutch government is preparing legislation concerning the EMR. As a
contribution to the debate, I sent a letter to Arda Gerkens, MP for the
Socialistische Partij. The letter, in Dutch can be found here.
Ideas about Client Centered Patient Record go public
(Rob Kleissen, 3 december 2008)
In november 2008, the dutch government sent a letter to all citizens
with information about the Electronic Patient Record. Unless the
citizen would declare in writing that he/she did not want this, the
government assumes that patient information may be shared amongst
health care professionals without the person's previous consent.
This was an opportunity for bringing up the Client Centered alternative. Related newspaper items can be found in the knowledge base section.
First documents posted
(Rob Kleissen, 30 september 2008)
The first documents describing the open telecare approach were
published in the knowledge base section. The first HowTo Open
Telecare was released in dutch under the GNU Free
Documentation License. A presentation that suggests some scenarios in
care using this approach was published as well.
